Sunday Club

Sunday Club is on every Sunday during the 10:00 Service except when a monthly All Age Service takes place. During All Age Services the children and youth lead many parts of the service and play a central part. Sunday club is for anyone in Junior Infants right up to 16yr’s+. In Sunday Club we learn about God through playing games, doing art and crafts, singing songs, praying, reading the bible and having discussions.

Sunday club is split into four different age groups and classes which are:

Bubbles – Jnr & Snr Infants

Splash – 1st-3rd Class

X-stream – 4th-6th Class

JYF – 1st Yr+

There is a team of wonderful volunteers in our church who take turns to teach the different classes. These brilliant volunteer leaders take lots of time to prepare, plan and pray for the children and young people, without them we would not be able to have such a vibrant and extensive children’s ministry in our church.

Regarding teaching material in Sunday Club, we use the Scripture Union Light-Live online teaching syllabus and material (www.scriptureunion.org.uk/29656.id) which provides the teachers with a vast range of resources for each Sunday club class. In Sunday Club we look at the same passages and verses as the congregation look at, which I think encourages a wonderful sense of unity within our church. The idea is to encourage unity in our church when it comes to our learning. It is as important to explore issues of faith and God at home as it is in church.  The hope is that families will go home and talk about what they have learnt as they sit around the dinner table.

Whether you’re in church every week or you’re just visiting, all children are welcome at Sunday club.

Sunday Creche

The Sunday Crèche is provided by members of the Parish for pre-school children and babies and is available during the 10.00 a.m. service on Sundays in the Parish Centre. (This service is at 10.30 a.m during the summer period, June to August.) At Creche the children play with toys, listen to stories from the Bible and sometimes sing songs.

Maxpack

Maxpack is our youth club for 5th – 6th Class primary school children and usually occurs every 2 weeks on a Friday evening from 7:30-9:00pm during school term.

This is a lively youth club designed for 5th and 6th class children from any school. We play high energy, creative games and learn about God and the Bible through talks and discussions. We can get anywhere from 30-40 children on a Friday. This club is loud, dynamic and full of life!

Keep an eye on the notice board for Maxpack dates, or ask me about it.

Shake, Rattle and Hum

SR&H baby and toddler group meets in Parish Centre large room downstairs on Wednesdays 10.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. (during the standardized primary school year). It is for babies and toddlers accompanied by their parent or minder. It is open to all, but places are limited. Anyone wishing to join should contact the church office at 01-2896442.

The group is an exciting and vital ministry here in Kill. We hope and pray that it will continue to be a place where people feel welcome and that everyone who comes will feel part of the wider church community.

Girls Brigade

Following all the 50th year celebrations in April and an action packed weekend in Carlingford Adventure Centre back in June, we are looking forward to the forthcoming year, especially as we welcome our new Captain, Nola Lambert, on board. As many of you know, Nola has been an officer with the 22nd Company for many years but stepped in to the captain’s shoes in April following Sandra Chapple’s retirement. We open in September, and girls from 3 years and over are welcome. For further details please contact Nola on (087) 688 9845.
