As we end the book of Philippians, Paul gets us to reflect on what it means to seek joy and live as Christians. A reminder, Paul is writing from Prison to his friends living in a city that is hostile to their faith and their way of life.
Read Philippians 4:4-20
-
What is important to include with our requests to God?
-
Why do you think they are important?
-
Can you remember how the Philippians showed Paul their concern? Write out what they have done.
-
What is Paul’s secret to always being content with what he has?
-
Is this something you think is easy to do? Why or Why not?
This final passage is Pauls way of saying goodbye, he is ending his letter with his final thoughts in an attempt to equip his friends with what they need. As we finish this book lets write out a prayer to God to end it.
According to Verse 6, with prayer, petition (doing one thing repeatedly) and thanksgiving we can bring our requests to God.
Write a prayer request to God, do not be afraid to ask for what you need most. God loves you and wants the best for you and will listen.
Going forward we are going to take a look at the book of 1 Thessalonians.
Watch the Bible project summary video on it today and we will kick off looking at it next week.
