Parish Update 29 May 2020

John 20: 19-23
When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you.' After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.' When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.'

Dear Friends,

I hope and pray that this finds you well. It is hard to believe that it has been over 11 weeks since we entered lockdown. The verses above are shared after the resurrection of Jesus as he brings hope and peace. We look at these verses again this weekend as we celebrate Pentecost this coming Sunday.

Here also, we have a note of thanks from Dianne and Dee in relation to the passing of their father, our friend, Alan Jeffers:

Dianne Morris and Dee Jeffers would like to express appreciation for those who came to Kill O' the Grange Church on the 11th May, for the ringing of the bells (in both Churches), and the Word and prayer for our Dad, Alan Jeffers. We also appreciated many others who stood along the route to the Cemetery. You all brought us, and our families great comfort. We will give thanks for his life formally when time allows.
